Following the arson which caused major damage and shut down the building materials testing laboratory. The facility’s original location in Chamblee, northeast of Atlanta, warranted a move to a new facility as the better option over rebuilding the previous site.

Golder, which is now integrated into WSP as a single company, partnered with WSP architects prior to the integration to design a lab space that allowed the geosynthetic, geotechnical, aggregate and concrete labs to operate seamlessly. safe and effective. The new lab offers several new features that were not available in the original installation, including an improved air handling system that will provide needed fresh air throughout the lab. The building also includes an improved and energy-efficient lighting system to support work in the laboratory environment and soundproof rooms to minimize disturbance to other areas of the laboratory to allow laboratory staff to focus on the tests.
