The Corsican city council is due to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday 23 August in the council chamber of the government center at 200 N. 12th St. There will be a working session at 5 p.m. before the meeting to discuss the presentation of the master plan for wastewater. .

Monday’s city council agenda items include:

• Receive public comments regarding the amendment to Chapter 3, Building and Construction, Section 3.100, Electrical Code, Section 3.135, Minimum Wire Size, Exceptions, of the City Ordinance Code.

• Receive public comments regarding a request for a specific use permit for a prefabricated house for lot 72, block 589, located at 2308, 13th avenue West.

• Receive public comments on a proposed amendment to Chapter 13, Municipal Fees, of the City Ordinance Code to make changes and additions to certain fees.

• Consider amending Chapter 3, Building and Construction, Section 3.100, Electrical Code, Section 3.135, Minimum Wire Size, Exceptions, of the City Ordinance Code.

• Consider a request for a specific use permit for a prefabricated house for lot 72, block 589, located at 2308 West 13th Avenue.

• Consider amending Chapter 13, Municipal Taxes, of the City Code of Ordinances to make changes and additions to certain fees.

• Consider approving the award of the bid for asphalt materials.

• Consider approving the award of the tender for the construction of concrete curbs and gutters.

• Consider approving the award of the tender for cleaning and / or sealing of joints and cracks (asphalt concrete).

• Consider approving the award of the bid for fuel services.

• Consider approving the award of the tender for gravel and road equipment.

• Consider approving the award of the tender for vegetation management services.

• Consider approving a paid quarantine leave policy for firefighters, peace officers, detention officers, and emergency medical technicians, as required by the local government code.

• Consider approving an amendment to the FY 2020-2021 Budget of the Corsican Tourist Office.

• Consider approving changes to the Vehicle Towing and Storage Fee Schedule (Corsica Police Service Vehicle Towing and Storage Fee Schedule).

• Consider authorizing a mutual aid agreement between the firefighters of the City of Corsica and the Navarro College.

• Consider authorizing the city manager to accept a 2020 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Administration to firefighters.

• Consider approving the nomination by the City of Corsica of a candidate to sit on the Board of Directors of the Central Evaluation District of Navarro.

• Consider approving the award of the tender for the Central Fencing Fire Station Project.

• Consider declaring certain assets as surplus and authorizing the City Manager to sell, exchange, donate or dispose of such assets.

• Confirm the appointment of the mayor to various boards and commissions.

• Consider approving the appointment of the City Manager to the Civil Service Commission.

• Executive Sitting: Council will retire in closed session or in executive session to receive legal advice on legal matters in accordance with Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, to deliberate on certain matters relating to real property in accordance with Texas Government Code Section 551.072, and to discuss economic development negotiations pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.087.

• Return to the public session: the Board will review and act on the items discussed during the executive session, if necessary.
